Building Bangladesh’s First Integrated Agricultural Intelligence Ecosystem

For more than four decades, Shykh Seraj has carried knowledge from the laboratory to the field — through Mati O Manush, Hridoye Mati O Manush and the Krishi Budget dialogues that put the microphone in farmers’ hands. That trust is the ground on which the Shykh Seraj Initiative now builds.

Its next chapter is a unified, national Agricultural Data Platform: connecting the sky (satellite imagery and NDVI/EVI vegetation monitoring), the earth (digital soil mapping and field-level crop data) and the system (weather, market and agro-insurance data) — and turning all of it into decisions a farmer can act on.

Agricultural transformation cannot happen in silos, and we cannot build this alone. We invite government agencies, universities, satellite and weather providers, technology companies and development partners to become our Strategic Data & Innovation Partners — and to move Bangladeshi farming from guesswork to a data-driven science:

Data Knowledge Intelligence Decision Impact.

01Who We Are Looking For

Who We Are Looking For

We are building a collaborative ecosystem. We invite partnerships from organizations across the following sectors:

01

Technology, Satellite & Weather Organizations

Providers of geospatial imagery, NDVI/EVI mapping, meteorological data, climate-risk modelling and IoT sensing.

(Ground-truth your satellite and weather models against verified field data from farmer networks in all 64 districts.)

02

Universities & Research Institutions

Departments of agriculture, soil science, climate change, economics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

(Access validated, field-level datasets for MPhil/PhD research and joint publications — building on the farm-journalism curriculum SSI’s founder helped bring to the University of Dhaka.)

03

Government & Public Agencies

Agricultural extension, food security, land administration and subsidy programmes.

(Integrate national administrative data with field intelligence — extending the evidence base the Krishi Budget dialogues have brought to policymaking on pricing, insurance and crop reform.)

04

NGOs & Development Partners

Organizations working on climate resilience, rural livelihoods and sustainable farming.

(Co-design grant applications and implementation with the Grow Green women’s self-help groups and the Green Bridge farmers’ cooperative, with measurable impact tracking.)

05

AgriTech & Private Sector

Agri-businesses, market analysts, insurers and supply-chain innovators.

(Build decision-support systems, market intelligence and agro-insurance products on ground-truthed field data.)

02

Ground-Truthed Validation: Combine your top-down data — satellite imagery, climate models, market feeds — with bottom-up, verified field data gathered from the farmers themselves.

03

Joint Research & Grants: Apply together for international agricultural, climate and AI-for-good funds, alongside a partner whose work has been recognised by the FAO, UNESCO and the World Food Programme.

04

National Impact: Help shape a platform that serves food security for 170 million people, advances agro-insurance for climate and crop resilience, and empowers the marginalised farming communities the Initiative exists for.
